ACA Middle School allocated local, state, and federal resources that would impact two state-level prioritized areas:
Thanks to the dedicated educators at ACA Middle School and the hard work of our students and families, we were able to improve upon several of our goals from the 2015-2016 school year. On our Social Studies exam, the percentage of students that performed at Level II satisfactory standard remained the same at 88%. While we did not increase our score, we were able to keep our distinction designation in Social Studies for the 2nd consecutive year. We will continue to strive to reach improve our scores in Social Studies hoping to have over 90% of the students pass.
We saw excellent gains in Science improving from 56% passing in 2014-2015 to 98% passing in 2015-2016. This is specifically related to Mrs. Sullivan and her dedication in teaching 8th grade science. This was Mrs. Sullivan’s first year in teaching 8th grade science and her work is evident in the scores. We will continue to work on our “Advanced” scores in science and hope to see Science at 100% this school year.
- Improve the percentage of students who meet standard or score “advanced” on STAAR exams, specifically on the Science and Social Studies STAAR exam.
- Improve the percentage of students who score “Advanced” on the EOC level exams. ( Algebra 1 and Biology) Overall, ACA Middle School performance on the STAAR and EOC assessments earned the campus three distinction designations along with the accountability rating of “met standard.”
